My name is Cindy and I have been in the mortgage business for over 16 years. I live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. I have always had a dream of having a bake shop because I love cooking. My husband Greg, and several friends have encouraged me to get a little business going, so here I am. LOL.
As far back as I can remeber,I have always enjoyed baking. I love to bake cakes, pies, and cupcakes, and even making candy for my family and friends. I love getting in the kitchen with my kids, turning on the radio, and spending the afternoon baking and bonding. Some of my best childhood memories are the times in the kitchen with my mom and grandma cooking. Some of thoses times included me just sitting in a chair and watching them cook. I believe I get the love of baking from my grandma. She is always baking everyones favorites for the holidays or a family event. We all fight over them because we dont like to share one of grandma's famous cakes or pies.
My grandma Whitfield has since gone home to be with the Lord. Grandma Twine just turned 75 and she still has requests for cakes or pies during family events. My sister Charlene and I still love sitting with grandma and talking about her making us soup and sandwiches during our summer visit with her at Camp Lazy Bee in North Carolina Grandma always had the gift for making a grilled cheese sandwich with cream of chicken soup taste like something Chef Ramsey would even enjoy.
My mother in law Beryl has given me some of her old cookbooks and I have so enjoyed going through them and making some of the old traditional dishes.
My husband Greg and I have three children between us. Liz is in college studying law and in her spare time she loves taking pictures. Kip has started a career at Sysco Food Service and in his spare time he loves to skateboard. Brooke is the youngest and is a Senior in high school . She loves to spend her time with her friends...but she does get in the kitchen with mom when time allows.
We have one dog and one cat in our household. Copper is our 15 year old cocker spaniel and Jasmine is our 8 year old cat. They spend most of the day sunning and sleeping. Copper loves when I get in the kitchen to bake because he knows he will get to eat anything that doesn't turn out the way I want it to.
